And the EX with a 6speed is about the perfect commuter car. 40 mpg, light but tight clutch, a shifter as slick and smooth as anything, and lots of glass for excellent forward, side, and rear visibility. Seriously, I don't know how Honda makes shift mechanisms the way they do. They make the light, notchy throws in my Kia Soul feel clunky and vague.
Sunroof, cruise, etc... Good stereo despite the exasperating trend of touchscreens for damned near everything, and good gauge placement. It has nice, big knobs for HVAC controls, which is good. I don't like the buttons on the Accord. Even my fat, 6'3," long-torso self could find a comfortable position with room for a child behind me.
Driving dynamics are, and I'm sorry for the cliché, zippy. Steering feels tight, if a little overboosted, and while the all-season tires are skinny and tall, they provide adequate grip for all but the most aggressive drivers.

I'd put a Honda manual up against any in the world I think. They're just that smooth.
I'd love to get a manual Fit as my next vehicle. Alas, my wife and I carpool and take turns driving each other's cars, and she has no desire whatsoever to learn how to drive a manual. This makes me sad.

My best friend had a PY ITR - best setup ever on a car <$100k. Tight pattern, short throw, titanium shift knob.
But nothing compares in my mind to the paddle shift in an F430 - it was like pulling the trigger on a gun. Feeling the pressure build in your hand, then pop - gear change - with a slight metallic ping. Beautiful.

It's like they're forged from titanium and butter. Rock-solid and perfectly weighted but smooth as silk. The 14 Civic Si I drove earlier this year was even better than the Fit.

I drove an F430 at the Gotham Dream Car Sprint. I didn't get to shift it except 1-2 but I can definitely see your analogy.

I looked at these briefly before getting my 3. The manual is rated at 37 hwy.
I chose the 3 bc for a little more money I got better fuel economy, power, and room. On subjective criteria I think the 3 looks better and I like the interior more with the exception the 3 has less storage than the fit.
